One artist that I have looked at in relation to Mixed Media would be Chris Welsby. Welsby, who was born in 1948, Is a British / Canadian experimental film maker, digital media and installation artist.
Welsby made use of a variety of different media in his work.
One of his most noticeable pieces of work would be ‘Seven Days’. This was a 20 minute long film in which he filmed snippets of the day using a camera that flipped 180 degrees with the sun. He used a shotgun microphone to record the audio, capturing the sounds of wind and the other forms of weather before merging it with the video footage, to create the short film.
I find this work particularly exciting as it intrigues the viewer to consider what the artist is trying to represent in his work, as it is not immediately clear.
