For this shoot I decided to continue with my gif image theme. I wanted to experiment with idea of replacing human characteristics with objects, to see how it would look, and the effect it has on the image.
Contact Sheets

I have utilised each of the photos in the above contact sheets when creating gifs, some of which can be seen below.

I’m quite pleased with how this gif came out, I feel that my use of a large pink sheet of acrylic has created an interesting collection of photographs with a unique sense of metamorphism where the pink represents human form due to its pure and natural tone. The use of the square shaped plastic overlay could be compared to the work of Cubism, Particularly Picasso. Picasso, similarly to me, has analysed and broken up the key elements of images in an abstract form. In the case of my piece, I’ve taken my models face and replaced it with a large square of pink acrylic. Overall, I’m pretty please with how this photograph came out.

As well as this, I also used Photoshop with alpha layers to colour splash the gif, converting it to black and white, leaving only the pink square in colour, whilst I appreciate how the viewer/audience is now led to question the reasoning for the pink square, I acknowledge that the image could also be viewed as a bit tacky.

In keeping with my experimentation from my previous posts, I have created a video montage of the gifts from this image, again utilising music from Sufjan Stevens as I believe it complimented the bizarrity of the shoot.
I’m again quite happy with how this turned out, though I realise I’d forgotten to crop the music at the end, of the video clip.
